About the Parish Council

Your Parish Council serves residents in the village and also in the outlying areas of Bryning (hence Parish Council and not Village Council). We are the lowest tier of local government, elected directly by local residents.

The Parish Council has a committee system, which means that full council usually meets once a month on 1st Tuesday in the Village Hall and the committees report back to the Councillors and residents.

Committee meetings and full Council meetings are announced in advance on the notice boards around the village and on the website homepage.

Currently we have these committees:

  • Open Spaces and Recreation (including young people)

  • Finance

  • Planning

  • Employment

Parish Councillor representatives also serve as Trustees on the Bryning with Warton Village Hall Trustee Committee and on the Scout & Guide Headquarters committee and have representation on meetings with Streetwise and BAe Systems Liaison
